Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)

GPR as an imaging tool allows the operator to gather the following information:

  • Structure inspection – bridges, monuments, walls, towers, tunnels, balconies, garages, decks.
  • Concrete inspection – locate metallic and non-metallic targets in walls, floors.
  • Reinforcing steel and tension cable location and depth.
  • Slab thickness on grade and suspended.
  • Detection of voids and variations in the concrete matrix.
  • Determining concrete cover depth for measuring of slab thickness.
  • Void detection and location.
  • Measure of bridge deck thickness for bridge deck condition and assessment.

Qualified, Third Party Crane Inspections
Annual third-party inspections are typically required by general contractors, property managers, and others before permitting cranes on their property or job site.

In addition to performing a thorough visual and operational component evaluation, J. D. Inspection, Inc. will perform load testing, weld examinations, and other non-destructive tests using magnetic particles and ultrasonic procedures as needed.

Dielectric Testing
Dielectric testing is the process for applying high voltage to a device in order to determine the status of its electrical insulation. Dielectric testing for Digger Derricks, Knuckle booms, Boom Trucks, Sign Trucks, Lattice Cranes, Platform Trucks, Carry Decks, Mobile Telescopic, and Hot sticks.

Dielectric Testing uses either an AC or DC stimulus voltages dependent on the test specification. The Dielectric Test is the most popular form of electrical safety testing. Products which operate from line voltage often require production line Dielectric Testing on a 100% basis. Besides hi-pot testing, ground bond testing and insulation resistance testing are also often required. The test voltage for Dielectric Bucket Truck Testing is usually specified by the applicable safety standard.
